“NewSpace” is an ecosystem of private companies developing around the commercialization of space. It feeds into a global industry and innovation economy that touches every aspect of contemporary society. From the once government owned and operated “space”, the number of private companies providing services and products around the commercialization of space increases daily. From 2010 to 2015 launch prices went down by a factor of ~10 or more, to about $5,000/kg to LEO, while investments into private space companies are closing in on $2.5 Billion. Access to the space environment (microgravity, vacuum, space radiation) has become affordable, reliable and accessible through a spectrum of capabilities from parabolic to suborbital and orbital flights. Learning what could be done in space -- and how -- has its own characteristic learning curve that can be challenging at times for newcomers.

This webinar (the second in a series of two) will feature a selection of NewSpace capabilities (from flights to operating hardware), and will discuss existing opportunities, estimated price points and challenges remaining to be addressed.
