New Farm Bill Implications for Renewable Chemicals and Bio-Products
Wednesday, July 16, 2014:
1:00 - 2:30 pm Eastern US Time
The recently passed 2014 Agricultural Act incorporates a number of sought-after policy and funding changes that will directly boost green and bio-based chemistry, biomass to fuels, and less toxic, more sustainable materials and formulations for consumer products and packaging, all together a rapidly growing worldwide industry valued in the hundreds of billions of dollars.
The Bio-refinery Assistance Program, once restricted to biofuels, now encompasses chemical and material outputs. This opens up access to $881 million in funding to startups and biorefineries pursuing non-fuel products. The Biomass R&D Initiative program also now gives parity to biochemicals and materials, with $20M in funding through 2018, and the BioBased Markets program has had its funding extended through 2018.
This webinar will provide both strategic and tactical information on how to assess and leverage federal and regional mechanisms, incentives and funding sources to fast track and de-risk innovation in US manufacturing. Specifically, this webinar will cover:
- New Farm Bill grants and loan guarantees, now explicitly including bio-based chemicals research and projects
- Department of Energy and Department of Agriculture grants for R&D
- Current and proposed chemical regulatory regimes governing Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA)
- Cross agency Advanced Manufacturing programs

Single Connection: $99.00
Additional Connection at the same Organization: $50.00
A site connection allows a single connection to the web conference. That connection is open to any number of users in a collaborative setting. Because there are no travel expenses and only a single registration fee is required, each additional participant lowers the cost per participant significantly.
By purchasing a site connection, you can invite as many people as you would like to view and participate in the session from a single location. Set up the session in a conference room and project the presentation and chat on a large screen. You also have rights to distribute copies of the presentation materials to everyone involved. Please note that audio is received via the phone line and must be broadcast to your group.
If for any reason a relevant stakeholder cannot co-locate for the session, we encourage you to include that person by purchasing an additional connection at the reduced fee of $50 per session. This will ensure that every member of a team receives the same relevant, timely information in the most efficient way. If you have any technical or purchasing questions, please contact us at (818) 888-4444.
